The story:
This shirt is all about my day job. I am a proud member of the Ironman team, and that is my actual day job. I love all the things about triathlons & triathletes. I remember the first race I went to and how amazing it was to sit there at the finish line (this was years before I started working there) watching the athletes cross the line and feeling the goosebumps as the words rang out "You are an Ironman!" It was .. pretty freaking cool to say the least. While those athletes and that brand is the epitome of endurance and worthy of celebration, all triathletes from sprint to the 70.3 - all the way to the 140.6 distance (seriously though you guys & gals have my respect!) deserve the be recognized wherever you go in this one-of-a-kind custom shirt.
Now I'll explain why the back says "just kidding". I saw a shirt during a race that I was running (a 15k, not a marathon after I just biked and swim an incredible distance.. but go you!) that said "if you can read this, I am not last". Well.. I laughed so hard that I spit out my gatorade.. unbeknownst to me at the time making myself look even more hard core. So I figured it'd be funny to incorporate something like this into a tri shirt. It is true that being a triathlete really is not about speed, but then... putting just kidding on that back kind of says.. well.. it is about speed because, I just passed ya!
I'm pretty sure no triathlete would ever wear a cotton shirt in a race, but this makes a great recovery shirt, or celebration shirt to wear every single day for the entire month following your crossing of the finish line. Sometime around the time you wash the marks off your skin you can also change out of this shirt. You've got to get this shirt for your favorite triathlete friend, or your triathlete husband or triathlete wife. You'll earn major points.
Want a customization? Need a size or color you don't see? Just let me know! I will happily add race cities upon request, or athlete finish times and distances. I cannot use race names or logos in customizations.
